Following on from the recent Ofsted inspection we received a monitoring visit from Her Majesty’s Inspector (HMI) in April. This is the official letter outlining the findings of HMI during the visit and it is also available on the Ofsted website. I believe that it is very positive letter and the HMI has identified further improvements in our school since the full inspection.

Y10 Parents Information Evening at Peaks College: Wednesday 5th June 2013

One of the key decisions your son/daughter will need to make in the near future is regarding their progression opportunities following Y11. Educationally it is probably the most important decision in their lifetime so far and therefore it is vital for them, and you, to have a full awareness of the options available.

In order to help you play a full part in supporting any decision your son/daughter might make, Peaks College would like to invite you to a special event for parents/carers to be held from: 6.00 – 7.00pm on Wednesday 5th June at Peaks College.

A letter has been given to your son/daughter outlining the evening in more detail.

Y10 Taster Day at Peaks College: Tuesday 18th June 2013

Peaks College are offering the opportunity for Y10 pupils to find out what is involved in some of the study programmes to be offered at Peaks College from September 2014. Students will have an opportunity to ‘taste’ from either their A level or vocational progression pathways on Tuesday 18th June 2013 from 9.00am to 2.30pm. Students should arrive promptly and make sure they have a pen & paper with them. Lunch and drinks will be available to purchase from the refectory or alternatively pupils can bring their own packed lunch as they will not be allowed to leave the site.

A letter has been given to your son/daughter outlining the evening in more detail.

If your son/daughter wants to attend this day they need to fill in the reply slip with their choice of courses they would like to take part in on the day. There is also a section for parents to complete.

Academic Mentor Meetings – 4th June

The afternoon of Tuesday the 4th June from 1pm to approx. 7.00pm has been set aside for whole college Academic Mentor Meetings.  Parents are invited with their child to attend a 15-minute appointment with their Academic Mentor to discuss progress, issues and targets in detail.

Letters are being sent home this week for preferred appointment times.

Year 6 Transition week
