Comic Relief at Westfield.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to Comic Relief 2013 at Westfield. The week has a been a huge success and most importantly we have raised some valuable money for those less fortunate. Just to confirm we have had Bake Sales, a Non Uniform Day and The Westfield ‘Big Climb’ going on. The Big Climb being where each form have to raise £10 to enter a step contest. Each form have to do as many steps as possible in 2 days. Every member of the form had to contribute. Well the results of the Westfield ‘Big Climb’ are below.

The Westfield Big Climb Results

1st            D3 – Winning a form party and 50 Inter Hall points.

2nd           L7 – Winning 30 Inter Hall Points

3rd            L5 – Winning 20 Inter Hall Points

4th            D6 – Winning 10 Inter Hall Points

5th            L8 – Winning 5 Inter Hall Points

Most importantly – the grand total raised for Comic Relief 2013 at Westfield is £1818.53.

Peaks College – A ‘Taste’ of College – Wednesday 20th June

Peaks College are offering the opportunity for Y10 pupils to find out what is involved in some of the subjects at Peaks College in September 2013.

They will have an opportunity to ‘taste’ 3 of them on Wednesday 20th June from 10:30 to 15:30. Students will do their Physics exam first and then will leave Westfield Sports College straight after the exam to arrive promptly at Peaks College and make sure they have a pen & paper with them. Lunch and drinks will be available to purchase from the refectory or alternatively students can bring their own packed lunch. Students will not be allowed to leave the site. Students do not have to wear college uniform.

Please complete part (b) of the attached reply slip (Taster Day at Peaks College) yourself and encourage your son/daughter to complete part (a) and return the slip to school as soon as possible, and no later than Friday 18th May 2012.

Students must make 5 choices from the list of courses below & Peaks College will then arrange their day to match 3 of these. If they do not make 5 choices they may not get 3 of their choice.

On Tuesday 24th April at 09:15 – 14:30, Sheffield City Council are holding Parents’ Question Time at the Megacentre, Bernard Road, Sheffield S2 5BQ. 

It is an opportunity for parents not only to pose questions around their child’s education but be informed and consulted on the issues that matter to them.
